Summer Day Camp

Signups start Monday, April 1 for Manchester Parks & Recreation Summer Day Camp and the first day will be May 28. Cost is $65 per week, per child. Children will be making crafts, swimming, cooking in our teaching kitchen, and enjoying organized play. Lunch will be provided daily!

Summer Swim Lessons

The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department will be offering summer swim lessons with the first session starting on June 3, and the last session starting on July 22. Sessions are two weeks long for one hour a day, Monday - Friday. Levels 1 - 4 are offered at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5 p.m.. Level 5 is offered at 5 p.m.. "Mommy and Me" is offered at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.. The cost to participate in the class is $55 per participant for Swim Lesson Levels 1 - 5. The cost to participate in Mommy and Me swim lessons is $35 per participant. There is a $10 non-refundable deposit required at registration, the deposit is applied toward the total fees for the class. Recreation center pass holders receive 10% off registration fees. Bring Your Dogs To The Egg Hunt!

A limited number of dogs will be allowed in the April 13 egg hunt at the new dog park!  Register at the front desk of the Manchester Recreation Complex - 557 N. Woodland Street. Cost is $5 per pet and dogs must be on a leash. {Aggressive doggies will not be permitted to hunt the eggs).

Get Your Swim Trunks And Go For An Egg Hunt!

The annual underwater egg hunt for ages 3-12 will be at 11 a.m. on April 13 at the Manchester Recreation Complex indoor pool - 557 N. Woodland St. The first 50 children registered will be admitted. Hurry and sign up today!

Living Well With Chronic Conditions Course

Living Well is a workshop for people who have one or more chronic conditions. A chronic condition is an ongoing health problem or disease such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and other long term problems. Developed at Stanford University, the Living Well workshop meets for two hours a week for six weeks. This course is sponsored by the Manchester Recreation Department and Coffee County Public Health Department. The class is free, however there will be a $10 fee for healthy cooking demonstrations and refreshments. Classes are highly participative. Mutual support and success build participants' confidence in their ability to manage their health conditions and maintain active and fulfilling lives. It is facilitated by two trained leaders in a classroom style, but most of the learning comes from sharing and helping others with similar challenges. Space is limited please register at the Rec Center. Classes are April 16 - May 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the teaching kitchen on Waite Street next to the Community Garden.

Full Moon 5K

Friday April 19 the Rec Center, Park Partners, and Beans Creek Winery will host the Full Moon 5K run/walk. Registration is $35. Runners will receive a t-shirt, food, a drink ticket, and live entertainment. Non-runners wanting to hang out to enjoy the food and music will be $20 per person. The run starts at 8:00 pm from Beans Creek Winery. Come early to grab your swag bag and bring your flashlight.

Easter Egg Hunt Time!

Get your baskets, put on your best running shoes and come gather up all the eggs you can! Children 7 and under can hunt eggs in Fred Deadman Park at 1 p.m. on April 20. Children 8 and over, be sure to bring your flashlight with your basket and at 8 p.m. we will have a night hunt at the Babe Ruth Field at Fred Deadman Park! Everyone is welcome, no registration required.

Parkpalooza

Celebrate the beginning of summer starting at 8 a.m. May 25 with the annual Parkpalooza event! Parkpalooza is a free event! The day will start at 8 a.m. in Rotary Park with a free color run 5K. We will have bounce houses and games for children. We wrap it all up at noon, just in time to head to the outdoor pool for the first Saturday of the season.

Children's After School Program

The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department offers a Children's After-school Program (C.A.P.) that operates Monday through Friday 3:05 pm - 6:00 pm through the school year. C.A.P. children will get to use the Recreation Center and indoor pool, play outside, have a healthy snack daily, and special activities. The department transports children from City Schools to the recreation complex with via bus. This is not a drop in program, children must be registered per week and the cost is $35.00 per week regardless of how many days you attend that week. Children who do not attend Manchester City Schools are welcome to participate but must provide their own transportation to the recreation center. For more information, call us at 931-728-0273.

Teen Council

Join the Teen Council of the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department. This group is for teens in the 9th to 12th grade who want to make a difference in their community. It is a leadership building group that brings teens from diverse backgrounds and interests together to help the Recreation Department put together teen programs and activities. They also assist the Recreation Department in some of our programs.

Adult and Master Swim Classes

The Adult Master Swim program is for anyone 18 or older who wants to improve their swimming techniques, learn the correct strokes, build swimming endurance, and just hang out with fellow swimmers. The instructors work with all abilities.

Fee: $5.00 per class
Equipment: Goggles are recommended and participants are recommended to purchase swim fins, caps, and swim paddles.
Class Time: Monday/Wednesday at 5:00 pm(for beginners) and 6:00 pm(for advanced swimmers).

Mud, Sweat, and Gears Bike club

Mud, Sweat, and Gears Bike Club is a free bike program held every Tuesday and Thursday at the Manchester Recreation Center from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Manchester School of Dance

If your child is looking for a fun activity or to learn serious dance techniques, then Manchester School of Dance is where they need to be! Manchester School of Dance offers a complete program for young dancers through high school age students. We offer a fun and learning experience of creativity. The dance year is a ten month program, running August through May. Classes offered are Mommy and Me (Ages 12 months to 2 years old), Beginning Combo (Ages 3 to 5 years old), Level 2 & 3 Combo (Ages 6 to 17 years old), and Jazz Class (Ages 5 to 17 years old). Tennessee Cheerleading and Gymnastics

Classes are a combination of tumbling, cheerleading, and physical fitness. Classes are available year round for children ages 4 and up. Classes are held at the Manchester Recreation Center in the gym. Classes are one hour in length and are held one day per week on Thursday.

Clogging

Free to anyone with a membership on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday.
