Makos Swim Team

Overview

The Manchester Makos is a parent-governed, year round organization promoting competitive swimming. We are dedicated to the development of young athletes in the water and in life. Through the instruction of our coaches, we teach technique, team unity, and competitive racing strategies to swimmers of all levels. Our goal is to make every swimmer successful at their optimal pace. Through dedication and hard work each team member is afforded the opportunity to achieve one's full potential. We strive to provide a healthy and motivating environment that promotes self-esteem and pride in one's accomplishments.

The swim team is for ages 4 to 18 and all swim levels. The levels are from not able to swim yet (bubble blowers) to swimming all 4 competitive strokes. We teach and swim USA swimming standards. We swim year round but take the month of August off. Swimmers can sign-up at anytime.

Necessary Items

Swimsuits, goggles, and swim caps or pony tails are required for all swimmers.

Other Items of Benefit

Swim fins, kick boards, paddles, and pull buoys are also beneficial to swimmers, as they will further improve skill, strength, and endurance.

Age Group

MMST accepts swimmers from age 4 to 18. Swimmers are placed with a coach according to their skill level.

Fees

Swimmers pay a monthly fee to the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department. The amount is based upon what contract is chosen. A one time yearly fee of $50.00 is paid to SES.
